General Information
Effective 6/1/23, the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies will enable the PMP Provider Authorization function, which will ensure that any provider or pharmacist who accesses the Colorado PDMP via PMP Gateway, the system that enables EHR integration, is appropriately registered.
You are being contacted because your organization currently has access to the Colorado PDMP Integration. To meet the Provider Authorization functionality requirements, providers or pharmacists who access the Colorado PDMP via PMP Gateway need to ensure the following:
- All providers/pharmacists must have an active user account with PMP AWARxE
- PMP Gateway requests must include one or more of the following identifiers:
- DEA
- NPI
- State Professional License Number and the provider's or pharmacist's name and role. NOTE: the State Professional License Number must list only the license number without the license prefix or leading zeros. For example, a pharmacist whose license card lists their license as “PHA.0012345” needs their State Professional License Number as 12345.
- With the Provider Authorization feature enabled, the identifier used for the provider or pharmacist in the PMP Gateway request must match at least one of the identifiers used in that provider's or pharmacist's Colorado PDMP user account.
Do not Delay! Failure to meet these requirements prior to 6/1/2023 will result in an error response when the provider or pharmacist attempts to access the Colorado PDMP via PMP Gateway.
If you would more information regarding which users at your organization need to register a user account with PMP AWARxE, please contact the Colorado PDMP administrator at PDMPINQR@state.co.us or (303) 894-5957.
